Show opens with Jamie jumping on the bed. Lucas has a voiceover about jumping on the bed when he was a kid and how happy he was doing it. Lucas is shown talking with Peyton while they are in bed about Lucas’ Mother Karen telling Lucas when he was younger that if he breaks the box spring he will be sleeping on the floor for the rest of his life. Peyton says she would sleep with Lucas on the floor for the rest of their life. Lucas and Peyton start jumping on the bed and they alternate screen shots with Jamie jumping on his bed. Jamie’s mom Haley tells Jamie that if he breaks the box spring he will be sleeping on the floor for the rest of his life.

Skills walks into Haley and Nathan’s house. Nathan’s mom, Deb is cooking breakfast and Haley tells Skills that she knows why he is here. Skills and Deb look at each other with concern while Skills says “you do?” and Haley says it’s because of Deb’s great cooking. Skills tells Haley she is right and nothing can get past her. Haley walks off and Skills walks to Deb and they start kissing. Nathan and Haley’s son, Jamie walks into the room and catches them kissing. Deb and Skills play it off like he was helping her cause she was choking. Jamie says to them “And they thought the last nanny was crazy.

Carrie brings in breakfast for Dan. The breakfast isn’t your ordinary bacon and eggs instead it’s bugs. Dan tries to talk but can’t and Carrie tells him that he is like the perfect man, Except if he was younger.

Deb is in the car with Jamie in a child’s safety seat. Jamie asked Deb if people kiss all the time. She says if they love each other. Jamie wonders if Deb loves his Uncle Skills. Deb tries to change the subject. Jamie tells Deb that it would be cool and says “Grandpa Skills”

The Ravens which is the high school team that Lucas and Skills coach is practicing. They aren’t getting it done so Skills yells at them because they are running broken up plays. Nathan tells Skills that he will give it a shot. Q which is Ravens star player but injured talks smack about Nathan coming onto the court. Nathan tells Q to give him the ball and just get out of the way. Ravens with Nathan start running a few plays. Nathan takes the ball and his a jumper. Haley comes into the gym where Ravens are practicing. Haley asks Skills how breakfast was. Skills wonders why and then tells Haley it was good. Haley yells to Nathan “Hey 23, Call me. Q jokes and says that he needs to change his jersey number.

Peyton and Lucas are shown still in bed enjoying themselves. The maid for the hotel room walks in and Peyton tells the maid that it’s fine cause they are getting married. Maid walks off with a weird look on her face. Peyton tells Lucas that she wants his mom at their wedding. Peyton’s phone goes off and it’s brooke calling her. Peyton asks Lucas if she can tell her which after a hesitation says “I guess”. Lucas tells Peyton to tell her that they are coming home for the ceremony. Peyton tells Brooke about LA and Lucas plus the wedding. Brooke tells Peyton that it’s great. Brooke lies and says she’s at the store and someone needs help. Peyton asks if everything is ok and Brooke says she is really happy for Peyton and that she gotta go. Brooke is all bruised up and swollen standing in her kitchen.

Brooke calls some one asking them to meet her at the store.
Lucas and Peyton are now on an airplane. Lucas asks Peyton when would she like to get married. Peyton tells Lucas that they need to find a place that they both like and then they will set a date. Lucas asks Peyton to move in with him, Peyton tells Lucas that she would love to. Peyton tells Lucas she wants to spend one more night with Brooke before she loves in and Lucas tells her that she got it.

Clothes Over Bro’s which is the name of Brooke’s clothing store is shown and it’s a total mess from the mugging that occurred there. Deb who was the lady that Brooke called walks into the store. Brooke is standing there with sunglasses on and she asks what happened. Brooke takes the glasses off and shows Deb how her face looks. Deb is shocked. Brooke tells Deb that she isn’t going to cry. Deb tells Brooke that it will be ok. Brooke repeats that she isn’t going to cry.

Jamie walks out of school and Haley is there to pick him up. Jamie see’s his Uncle Dan’s car and Haley wonders why it’s there. Haley tells Jamie to get in the car and she watches the vehicle take off with a wondering look on her face. Q and Nathan are at the gym by themselves. Q tells Nathan that he is getting his basketball groove back and tells Nathan that he is playing like him. Jamie comes into the gym wearing his cape. Q tells Jamie that he likes the cape and wishes that he had one. Q says he bought Jamie something and goes to get it. Haley goes to Nathan and tells him that Dan was at the school and how she didn’t like it. Q comes back with a box for Jamie and tells Jamie that he used to put his treasures in it. Nathan and Jamie begin playing around.

Deb is putting make up on Brooke. Brooke tells Deb she doesn’t want to call the police. Deb asks what did they take and Brooke tells her cash, a computer and her sketches. Brooke doesn’t want to call the police cause she doesn’t want the press to get involved in it. Brooke asks Deb not to tell anyone and she agrees that she won’t. Brooke asks Deb if she still has her gun to which Deb says she does. Brooke then wants Deb to show her how to use it.

Carrie tells Dan that Jamie was happy to see him. Carrie tells Dan that when Jamie goes missing, Haley will remember that she seen Dan’s vehicle almost every day. Carrie then wonders how Dan will feel being the prime suspect.

Nathan, Skills and Jamie are at the gym. Nathan can tell that something is on Skills mind and asks him what is going on. Skills asks Nathan if it was hard to keep his relationship with Haley a secret from Lucas. Nathan tells him no because he didn’t like Lucas but that it was probably harder for Haley because her and Lucas were friends. Jamie chimes in and says “you didn’t like Uncle Lucas?” Nathan tells Jamie that was a long time ago and calls him big ears. Jamie plays with his ears after his dad call them big and to see how big they are. Nathan wonders if Skills is seeing some one behind their back. Jamie asks “yeah, what’s going on Skills?”. Jamie tells his dad that his ears are not that big.

Haley is in her classroom and tells Q that he is doing really well. She tells him how she appreciates how he is with Jamie and Nathan. Q tells Haley that Jamie already has it going on. Q tells Haley that he has a little brother his age and that he copies him. Haley then asks what does Q want to do with his life besides playing basketball. Q tells Haley that he wants to get married and raise a family. Q tells Haley that he thinks of that when he see’s his brother and Haley’s son. Haley tells Q that he come a long way as he was a troubled student at one time but then she shows him an A on his paper. Q looks surprised but happy as well.

Jamie is walking on Nathan’s back as his back pops. Haley comes walking into the picture and playfully kicks Nathan. Haley asks where Deb is but Nathan doesn’t know.
Deb walks into Skills and tells him she doesn’t have very long. Deb tells Skills she had to lie to Jamie but then something else happened. Skills wants to help her but Deb can’t tell him what’s wrong. Deb tells Skills she has a friend that is going through a rough time and she wants to keep it a secret but she’s not sure that she should. Skills says that the person must respect her. Skills wonders if there is anything he can do to help. Deb tells Skills that he just did and that this was their first real conversation that they had and they kiss.

Peyton walks into her house that she shares with Brooke and yells out for her. Brooke tells Peyton not to freak out. Brooke shows Peyton her face and Peyton says oh my god what happened. Brooke makes up a story about how Lindsey came in and she said that Peyton was a b*tch and she punched her and they had a fight but that Lindsey looks worse. Brooke then lies again and tells Peyton that she fell down the stairs face first. Peyton asks Brooke why she didn’t call her and Brooke tells Peyton she did but she said she was getting married. Peyton says asks if it’s sudden. Brooke says that people have been waiting since they were in high school. Peyton tells Brooke that Lucas wants her to move in. Brooke tells Peyton she is happy for her. Brooke tells Peyton she might be a little happier if it was her that fell down the stairs. Peyton tells Brooke that she’s really going to miss her.

Haley is playing piano and Jamie walks in. He wants to make Q a cape. Haley says sure.
Luke comes in and Jamie says did you know Daddy didn’t like you before? Jamie walks out and Haley asks about where he’s been. Luke says actually we’re engaged. She says you were just engaged. He says we just spent the last days happier than we have ever been and my best friend told me to pick one. She asks if they are happy and he says we both are. Haley says she’s got his back.
Peyton is sitting on the couch with Brooke’s head on her lap. Peyton thanks her for being a great friend. Brooke says she doesn’t believe in karma. Even if your a good person, bad stuff happens. Peyton asks if she’s missing Angie. Brooke says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Peyton says if you don’t believe in karma, what do you believe in. Brooke says justice.
Haley and Jamie is making the cape and he asks about Deb. They say Deb has been sleeping a lot lately. Haley goes to look for scissors and finds medicine in a drawer. She goes to see Deb and blames her for the meds. Deb is shocked. Haley argues with her. Deb says she’s been having sex and has not taken a single pill. She says Nathan’s back has been bothering her.
They confront Nathan about the pulls. They ask him if he’s been taking the pills and says yes. He’s been taking them like he’s supposed to. Deb says she’s going back to bed. Nathan says he can stop taking them if Haley wants him to but they help. Haley says she just wants him to be careful…sorry. She wants to see the doctor and talk to him about everything. He agrees to go the next day.
Carrie is arranging flowers and talks small talk to Dan. She tells him about the pager. She says he got a page. She doesn’t understand what it is for. Dan tries to talk. Carrie teases him “it’s alive!”. Dan says, “You’re plan sucks” and smiles.

Nate is at the doctor. Doctor says he needs to slow down. He needs to be smart about his practicing. The doctor says it’s possible to play but he could cause enough damage to be put back in the wheelchair.

Jamie and Lucas are in Peyton’s room. He tells Jamie Peyton is moving in with him. Jamie asks if Lucas was in love with momma. He says no. He asks if he was ever in love with Aunt Brooke. Luke says it’s a long store., Jamie asks if he has to be in the ring bearer again. Luke says not if he doesn’t want to. Jamie says good because last time it didn’t work out so good.

Dan is now talking. Telling her her plan sucks again. Carrie asks why. Dan says the pager has a number on the back. Call it. Carrie asks if it’s a trick. He says call and find out. She says her plan doesn’t suck and dials the number.

Nathan and Haley are at the RiverCourt. Nathan says so they’re getting married huh? Haley says yes. Nathan asks if Haley was scared of what the doctor said. Haley says yes, when he mentioned paralysis. Haley talks about how she has always loved seeing him play ball. She says he was like a rock star. He says he remembers her sitting with Keith. He played that game for her. Each basket was like a personal Haley James pick-up line. Nathan says he loves it too but he’d give it up for her.

Lucas brings out the last box from Peyton’s room. Lucas asks about Brooke. Peyton says she was gone when she got up. Luke says remember it’s a beginning, not an ending.
Brooke is lying in bed all bruised up.

Carrie is pacing. Dan taunts her to call the number. An emergency medical response team answers and tells her she must have the wrong number. Dan laughs. Carrie gets mad and throws the phone.

Brooke comes out and looks into Peyton’s room. Deb is at the door. Brooke gets nervous cause of what happened at her store until she hears Deb’s voice. Deb says she might want a girls’ night. Brooke says no thanks. Deb says I was like you but you won’t end up like me.

Carrie is mad and wants to know what it means. Dan tells her he only has 6 months to live and even if kidnaps Jamie, he’ll be dead. Carrie threatens to hurt him. Dan says I’m already dead. Carrie gets mad and leaves.

Peyton is unpacking stuff in Lucas’ room. She tries to call her house to talk to Brooke but the voicemail comes on.

Dan tries to get out.
Nathan is playing with Q again. Nate says he’s done for the day. Nate says he has a really hot wife and awesome son waiting for him at home. Q says I’m happy to be a part of it. Nate says what? Your comeback. It’s a beautiful thing to watch. Nate says to meet him at the rivercourt in the morning…and thank you.
Haley is sewing Q’s cape. Jamie says it’s awesome and says Q will loves it.

Lucas goes to see Skills at the coach’s office. He tells Skills about Peyton. They decide to get drinks.
Q goes into a gas station. He pays for gas but the cashier gives him a look. They show a guy down in the office with blood on him. Q turns around to leave. The guy says have a nice night. They show a gun go off and they show Brooke practicing. The phone rings and Lucas answers from bed. Luke says Oh my God. He hangs up the phone. Peyton asks what it is. Lucas says, “Quentin Fields was shot tonight. He’s dead.”
