dr cooper 225x300 Private Practice Gets a FULL Season It seems the trend around town is to re-new shows. And that’s exactly what ABC has done with Private Practice. The show was originally ordered for a full season last year, but the writers strike kept that from happening.

This season began with the network ordering only 13 episodes. The shows ratings are ok in the mind of some, but dominate in my mind, with 8.3 million the first two episodes. They place 2nd on Wednesday night line-ups next to CBS’s Criminal Minds. ABC has ordered nine more episodes of the show which will give it a full season. That’s good news for fans of the show, and it’s sort of a makeup for last years writers strike.

Private Practice is the third ’sophomore’ show to get a full season, next to NBC’s Chuck, and Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The only downfall is since the writers strike, like many the ratings for this show have dropped by nearly 2 million. It goes to show sometimes a strike really does kill things. =/
